The Department of Hotel Management was established in 2005 under Kerala University. The department has been conceptualized to impart high quality and applied education at graduate levels to meet international hospitality standards and professional competence to students. The aim is to inspire students to become innovative professionals and connect them to exciting and rewarding careers. The department supports students with their career planning by helping them develop and enhance their employability skills and graduate attributes. Activities such as job opportunities, employer engagement activities, employment-related information, and advice for students are provided for the upliftment of the students.

Greetings and welcome to the Dept. of Hotel Management (NIHM-Napunnya Institute of Hotel Management),

Naipunnya School of Management is the pioneer institution to start the B. Sc degree programme in Hotel Management, under the University of Kerala. The Institute encompasses the best of the infrastructure with most modern machines in training kitchen, training restaurants, housekeeping lab, mock bar and state-of-the-art computer labs with modern training software, audio-visual room and well-equipped library. The Institute is unique in its approach towards professionalism whereby students are given the best professional training so that they get a platform for further growth and development.

Naipunnya offers an undergraduate program in Hotel Management – Bachelor of Management Studies for Hotel Management (BMS-HM), from which many have found their career in the star rated industry through campus placement in India, Middle East, Europe and other Western countries.

BMS Hotel Management is a three-year full time under graduate programme offered by
the University of Kerala. The Department of Hotel Management was established in 2005
under Kerala University. The department has been upgraded as Naipunnya Institute of Hotel
Management (NIHM). The department has been conceptualized to impart high quality and
applied education at graduate levels to meet international hospitality standards and
professional competence to students.

On this backdrop Bachelor of Management Studies for Hotel Management programme is
offered by the department. The programmes provide training from the management aspect of
the hotel industry with a focus on sustainable growth and development of the region. Our
curriculum combines theory with authentic hands-on learning experience and students have
numerous opportunities to interact with industry professionals.
